As you know, the girls and I went to see the premiere of New Moon last Night. We got there at 10pm and there was a line started for everyone who came to see the midnight showing. It was kinda cold outside, so we decided to wait in the car with the heater. We had parked directly in front and could see what all was going on. When we noticed them letting people in, we hurried up to get our seats. We saved two seats for Michelle and Deb, who were on their way. Coming early did help us get good seats. I don't like sitting up front, too close the screen.
Okay, here it goes- Anyone who loves "Twilight" will absolutely love "New Moon." All of the hype about makeup and lighting was true. Everyone looked their best. The most important parts of the book were in the movie. It's the first time I had read a book before seeing the movie version, that I wasn't sure how it came across to others. Jessi and Michelle, who are big book readers, said that they were very pleased at how they kept the important stuff in the movie. I guess I expected to see each line from the book come to life. Now I know and understand that that is just impossible. It would be a mini series or something. I understand that the well known critics didn't care much for New Moon. Well, you really need to be female and a hopeless romantic to get it. I've decided on some awards that I would give out if I could.
Let's just say that "Sharkboy" has grown up. Jacob was a very big part of this movie and he did a great job.
Most Improved Actress : Bella looked better and her acting was much better.
Most Loved Vampire( Not including Edward): Carlisle is so patient and kind, it's hard not to love him.Comic Relief : All four of these were great. This is such a "downer" type story about Edward leaving Bella and her world is crushed. To lighten up the movie, they successfully added lots of comic relief. The timing was good and everyone did well that I couldn't choose between them.
Scene most like I imagined it:
Bella and Laurent in the meadow was probably the most like the book described.
Most Heart breaking moment: Of course, when Edward leaves Bella. You know it's coming, but it's still sad to watch.
Shortest Scene that everyone couldn't wait to see: The birthday party!
Vampire you wish there was more of: Emmett Cullen. His character needs it's own movie. I would pay to see it.Most Exciting Scene Not in the Book: The fight between Edward and Felix. It's not in the book, but lasted long enough to see how it could have been , maybe?
Well, that's it!! The end of my New Moon obsession.
Now on to better things. "Eclipse" comes out in June 2010- can't wait : )

LOL!!!!!! Here goes the dountdown to Eclipse. ;) Glad to see you had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteYes T, the "dountdown" begins.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
ReplyDeleteBut wait a minute..are you saying it's over...you mean you are not going back to see it again? No video? c'mon what kind of obsessed fan are you?
Oh, I will see it again and again. No true obsession is ever over , but openly on the home front, I'll have to keep it on the down low.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with everything you wrote on this one. All in all it was great. I had a great time and I can not wait until Eclipse.
ReplyDeleteOne note...even though the book and the movie were different because of time, I still enjoyed both versions very very much. It's nice to have something that I enjoy that doesn't hurt me or anyone else around me.
