A Blast from the Past

Way back when, our girls all got together and put on this delightful Christmas play for us. It's from a Charlie Brown Christmas-I think.

What fun!!

Birthday Bells are Ringing?

That's right! Today is my sister Barbara's birthday; two days before Christmas!
Not the best time to have a b'day, but I am very, very grateful to have her.

Have a Great day! and remember that I love you very much.
{and that you'll always be 14 months older than me ~; ) }

Christmas 1988

We welcomed Rachael to our family in January 1988, so by Christmas she was 11 months old.

Richie was 7 in this picture.
And notice how beautiful Aunt Barbara is here.

Back at home, Rickey was so excited to get this tool box that we thought we might give him some tools the next Christmas to put in it. LOL

Year of the Bears

MawMaw and Papa Honea gave Richie and Ginny these bears for Christmas, I'm thinking, in 1985. It looks like they are 3 and 4 years old in these pictures.

Richie named his, "Cinnamon"

Ginny named hers, " Ginger."

I still have the bears packed away. I don't think I could ever throw them away. Someone else will have to after I'm gone. AKA "Pack Rat"

This is apparently their "formal" picture for that year. It was taken at our house.

Jessi and Kellye

One of my favorite portrait sittings of all time. Jessi and Kellye at Christmas time 1997. All of the group and individual shots turned out great and it was hard not to buy them all.

What a little actress my JJ is!And of course, what an angel my KK is!

A Very Posey/Walker Christmas

Before Richie and Ginny came along, Tina and Daniel were the only two kids around. Here are some pictures, I think from 1979 and 1980.

With Santa

Jessi and Kellye are the only two I have with a 'real' Santa. Richie and Ginny never did like the guy, plus we tried not to over promote him. Jessi and Kellye were both terrified of him, too. One Christmas party at church, we had a Santa and Jessi had to go outside and sit in the car with her Papa Posey. Kellye would always hide her face from Santa in the Malls to keep him from seeing her and her him. Finally, when Kellye  was in Kindergarten, she decided that she wanted to go and sit on Santa's lap.We didn't think she would actually do it, but we went along with her. To our surprise she did and ,of course by this time, Jessi was willing, too.

Group Pictures

All four of my kids were in school and got together and surprised me with this group picture for Christmas.

How blessed am I ?

Mrs. Roberts' Santa

About 30 years ago, Tina was in Mrs. Roberts' kindergarten class. For the ones who don't know, Mrs. Roberts had a private kindergarten class at her house.

Rickey was asked to be Santa for their Christmas party that year.

Sandra bought the red material and I made the suit for him to wear. He had some safety glasses from work and used them to help disguise himself.

Mrs. Roberts was a very sweet lady who cared about education very much; her and her husband. He was my English teacher at OXR. He taught me the language principles so well, that I never had any trouble keeping straight A's throughout high school. To this day, I still hear him telling me that a preposition is "anywhere a rabbit can run."  I've seen him so often at school, while picking up Kellye, as he is still drawn to be near school participating anyway he can.

A Blue Christmas

I call these our "Blue Christmas" for apparent reasons.

This was probably 1988. It's our 2nd year in our new house, and we had went to the "Crafts Tree Farm" and cut down this live tree. I only wish I had blue lights and balls to hang on it.

Christmas Pictures

Since last Christmas, our computer was accidently emptied of all it's contents and we had to reload everything that was reloadable. However, this did not include my Christmas pictures from last year along with so many other pictures that I lost. I have always cherished my pictures knowing that you can't go back and retake years and years of history as it unfolded. I'm thinking that the next few days until Christmas, I would like to post pictures of Christmas' past, in no particular order, just to reminiscence of the days gone by. Merry Christmas Everyone!
First, and most updated will be our family Christmas picture from 2007- A Posey Christmas:

Cookie Time!

There's something about Christmas that makes me want to bake more than usual. Saturday night, I decided to bake sugar cookies and let the girls decorate them.

Some were decorated with thought, while others were just decorated quickly so they could be eaten quickly.

My "kids" are all grown up. Simple holiday fun that we used to think was the best fun, no longer seems  the same. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! Good job J & K!
