One last party

Ginny and the girls surprised me with another birthday party on Friday night. Rickey and I had went out to eat dinner. When we got home, the house was all decorated with streamer that Kellye Beth had hung up and . . .

Ginny had cut out the 50's on these paper bags and filled each with some sand and a tea light candle.
It's hard to see in this picture, but there are 50's written in silver glitter on these clear votive cups.

There were pictures hanging up and laying around everywhere.
Also 50 facts about yours truly on 50 individual note cards set out all around.

She also made these 50's on the plates. And you can see that we had cookie cake to eat!

Thank you to everyone that made my birthday so special.
I'll always cherish the thoughtfulness that was shown to me on my big 5-0!!

Fried Green Tomatoes

One of Kellye Beth's favortie movies is "Fried Green Tomatoes."
We stayed up Sunday night and watched it together as part of her birthday.

She sits and watches my favorite movies with me on my birthday so it didn't hurt me to sit and watch this one with her. It's not my favorite, but it does keep my interest.
Now these are my kind of movies!!

Happy Birthday, Kellye Beth!!

Today, Kellye Beth turns 17 years old!
It's hard to believe that she has grown up already.
I guess you expect your first 3 kids to grow up,
 but not the baby!
God truly knew what He was doing when I wasn't so sure.
She has been a real blessing to me and I love her very much!!

For Valentine's Day

"For almost ninety years I've walked among my kind, and yours. . .  all the time thinking I was complete in myself, not realizing what I was seeking. And not finding anything, because you weren't alive yet."

*****Super Bowl disappointment*******

Yes, I'm an Indianapolis Colts fan! I have followed them all season just knowing that they would make it to the Super Bowl. I can't believe they lost! And not to just anyone, to the New Orleans Saints, of all people.
I can't stand much of anything to do with New Orleans. God destroyed that city for a reason. How dare people continue to rally around that city like they're "Saints". Apparently, the media, the stadium fans, and of course, the referees were all pulling for the saints. I know it's a big deal for the history of football since the saints have NEVER been close enough to make it to the super bowl, but come on, playing against the best quarterback, if not the best football player of all time, Peyton Manning. Yes, we got past that Tennessee Vols thing years ago. He has proven  himself over and over again to be the best reguardless of where he chose to go to school. Anyway, now when you look up Super Bowl 44 in the dictionary, it will simply say:
  "see Disappointment."
Go Colts! maybe next year!

p.s.  I've made it clear that I don't like New Orleans, or the Saints, but their quarterback Drew Brees is 2nd in line after Peyton. I've kept up with his career, too, and he works very hard and doesn't get enough recognition for his talent. I just wish he didn't have to use it against the Colts.
Congratulations to Drew Brees for being
the MVP of Super Bowl XLIV!
