Thanksgiving Day!

Okay, here's the annual family picture. There are a few people missing this year, but most of us are there.
Rickey took the picture, so he's out. Richie, Kathy, and Lorelei already left for the day and Michael was gone, too. Ginny, Darren, and LilyAnn didn't make it in time to come over and we missed them.

Here's Jessi and Kellye outside in the cold wind. They still look like super models to me.

Back at home, we visited with Lorelei, Richie, and Kathy untill Ginny and LilyAnn got there.

I am very thankful for my whole family. Each year that passes makes me more grateful to have them all with me.

The Blind Side

Rickey and I went to see "The Blind Side" Saturday night. It was a very good movie. We both enjoyed it very much.
Sandra Bullock played her part really well. I think she should get an Oscar for this one.

And of course, Coach Saban was in it, along with Tim McGraw.

Kathy Bates was a nice suprise to see.

This little boy was so funny. I don't think I've seen him before, but I'm sure I will be seeing him in alot more movies to come.

Then, of course, the star of the move, Quinton Aaron, did a great job. I really believed his character.

If any of you get a chance to go see it, I recommend it highly.

The blog has been updated

For some reason, my blog isn't showing that it has been updated. I'm not sure why, but I posted this to see if it would work this time. Wish me luck!

A girls night out . . .

As you know, the girls and I went to see the premiere of New Moon last Night. We got there at 10pm and there was a line started for everyone who came to see the midnight showing. It was kinda cold outside, so we decided to wait in the car with the heater. We had parked directly in front and could see what all was going on. When we noticed them letting people in, we hurried up to get our seats. We saved two seats for Michelle and Deb, who were on their way. Coming early did help us get good seats. I don't like sitting up front, too close the screen.

Okay, here it goes- Anyone who loves "Twilight" will absolutely love "New Moon."  All of the hype about makeup and lighting was true. Everyone looked their best. The most important parts of the book were in the movie. It's the first time I had read a book before seeing the movie version, that I wasn't sure how it came across to others. Jessi and Michelle, who are big book readers, said that they were very pleased at how they kept the important stuff in the movie. I guess I expected to see each line from the book come to life. Now I know and understand that that is just impossible. It would be a mini series or something. I understand that the well known critics didn't care much for New Moon. Well, you really need to be female and a hopeless romantic to get it. I've decided on some awards that I would give out if I could.

Star of the Movie:
Let's just say that "Sharkboy" has grown up. Jacob was a very big part of this movie and he did a great job.
Most Improved Actress : Bella looked better and her acting was much better.

Most Loved Vampire( Not including Edward):  Carlisle is so patient and kind, it's hard not to love him.
Comic Relief : All four of these were great. This is such a "downer" type story about Edward leaving Bella and her world is crushed. To lighten up the movie, they successfully added lots of comic relief. The timing was good and everyone did well that I couldn't choose between them.

Scene most like I imagined it:

Bella and Laurent in the meadow was probably the most like the book described.

Most Heart breaking moment:  Of course, when Edward leaves Bella. You know it's coming, but it's still sad to watch.

Shortest Scene that everyone couldn't wait to see: The birthday party!

Most Exciting scene totally rewritten: Jacob phasing into a wolf.

Vampire you wish there was more of: Emmett Cullen. His character needs it's own movie. I would pay to see it.
Most Exciting Scene Not in the Book: The fight between Edward and Felix. It's not in the book, but lasted long enough to see how it could have been , maybe?

Well, that's it!! The end of my New Moon obsession.
Now on to better things. "Eclipse" comes out in June 2010- can't wait : )

Thanks Guys

Thank you to everyone who has shown concern for me. It's true, life is like a box of chocolates-you never know what you will get. Some days are bad, but most are good. We all have crosses to bare and God gives us strength to bare them. My cross isn't any heavier than yours. I am still the most blessed person in the world and always will be.  I love you guys and thank God that people really care about me. Sorry that I have to have a pity party every once in a while. : )

Tonight's the night!

Okay! It's here. You won't have to read about it anymore, except for the one more time, when I let you know how totally fabulous the movie was. Tuesday night was a rough evening for me that carried over into Wednesday morning, but all is well today. At least, an obsession can help you forget about problems in life, especially if it's for something very unrealistic.
Sometimes real life can be a bummer : (

Men and women

Ever since the beginning of time, men and women have had trouble understanding each other.

Men sit around trying to figure out what makes women do the things they do, when it's the men who do all the weird stuff.
Here are plenty of examples proving what I mean by weird. They all seem to include noise, pain, sweat, and odor.

Hey, don't judge women and young ladies who want to go sit in a nice comfortable movie seat and watch a love story.
So what if it happens to be at midnight. So what if it happens to have Vampires and Wolves. Do you know what time true deer hunters get up to sit in the freezing woods just for a chance to kill one of God's beautiful creatures? Or what time a sports fan gets to an event just to soak up the atmosphere before it starts?
Give me a break!

By the way - Only three more days!

We all can't wait. Just four more day until the premiere of New Moon. Sure we know what's going to happen, but we want to see it come to life.

 Feel the excitement!
