Thank God for a real church

That's right. This past week, we had a fall revival , Thursday through Sunday.  Bro. Dewayne Martin preached Thursday night on "Things That Grace Revealed to Noah." He took his text from Genesis 6:1-16. Most everyone knows the story of Noah and the Ark, but Bro. Dewayne expounded on the marvelous grace of God and how it came about to save Noah, his family, and mankind, which includes us.
Then, Friday night, Bro. Jimmy Thomason preached on "He Can." His text came from Psalms 78:1-41. These verses reflect on God's goodness to Israel. Remembering back to their journey in the wilderness and how God provided time after time, but they still questioned, "Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?"(verse 19)And, of course, "He Can."
Saturday night, Bro. Michael Dollar was suppose to preach, but we had such a moving of the Spirit that he didn't feel impressed to. His church choir from Antioch came and sang for us, and what a blessing we all received. So many people testified of God's wonderful love, grace, and mercy that the Spirit couldn't help but move.  What started the service off was the biggest blessing.  Our pastor, Bro. Chris Sims' daughter had professed to being saved late Friday night and  asked to join the church. Bro. Chris opened the doors of the church and she came forth as a candidate for baptism. The whole congregation was asked to come around to give her the right hand of Christian fellowship.  If that's not a way to start a worship service, what is?
His daughter's name is Cherith and she is nine years old. She has been asking her parents questions about God and salvation for awhile now. Bro. Chris said one of the first things she asked him Friday night was, " Is hell as hot as fire?" And, of course, Bro. Chris answered her and said it's a 100 times hotter. Thank God for Spirit-filled men of God who are called to preach His word. Ones who are not afraid to preach hell - hot, and Heaven -sweet!
Sunday morning concluded our revivial meetings with Bro. Lynn Buchanan preaching for us. His text came from 2 Cornthians 9:15: "Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift." He reminded us all of God's unspeakable gifts of  love, joy, and peace. They are all unspeakable in the sense that there are not enough words for us to describe any of them. He started with God's gift of His Son to us. Then, the gift of eternal life. The whole revival was truly a blessing for our church.
